Job summary

Shelterhouse is seeking a Resident Aide - Seasonal to help maintain a safe, structured shelter environment for residents and staff in Cincinnati, OH. This role focuses on operations support, safety, and empathetic resident engagement.

The position requires confidentiality, crisis follow-through, and the ability to work weekends and overnight shifts. CPR/First Aid/NARCAN training is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of customer service or related experience required.
• Experience with homeless, behavioral health, addiction recovery, or human services populations preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, and NARCAN training preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and comply with HIPAA and privacy standards.
• Conduct regular security rounds to ensure shelter safety and policy compliance.
• Monitor for policy violations and safety concerns within the shelter.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and behavioral concerns as they arise.
• Assist with Shelterhouse safety protocols and coordination of drills and emergencies.
• Assist residents in connecting with Shelterhouse programs and internal resources.
• Provide emotional support and respectful interactions with residents.
• Build professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Demonstrate empathy and professionalism when working with vulnerable populations.
