Job summary

Community Family Advocates is seeking a Homeless Services Specialist to operate the shelter site and support individuals utilizing the service. The role emphasizes following policies, coordinating intakes, and creating a welcoming environment for all guests.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a Shelter or relative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and breaking down the shelter site daily, including mats/cots, cleaning, moving and inventorying supplies.
• Assisting with shelter intake processes, data collection and HMIS data entry.
• Coordinating transportation services to and from the shelter site.
• Serving and distributing food to shelter guests.
• Supporting the Shelter Site Lead, Shelter Director and partners in guest engagement and de-escalation.
• Creating a welcoming environment for all shelter guests.
