Job summary

Community Family Advocates seeks a Homeless Shelter Site Worker to support winter shelter operations and assist people experiencing homelessness. Tasks include setting up/breaking down the site, inventorying supplies, and helping with intake data entry.

Shifts run five per week during the winter season; duties include food service, coordinating transportation, and working with the Shelter Site Lead to ensure a welcoming, safe environment for guests.

Qualifications

• Follow and implement supervisor requests with minimal supervision.
• Adapt to change and tolerate ambiguity.
• Build effective relationships with teammates and partners.
• Be sensitive to diversity and inclusive interactions.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down shelter site daily, place mats/cots, clean, inventory supplies.
• Assist shelter intake and data entry into HMIS.
• Coordinate transportation services to and from the shelter.
• Serve and distribute meals to shelter guests.
• Support Shelter Site Lead and Director in de-escalation and client engagement.
• Help create a welcoming environment for all shelter guests.
