Job summary

Roof Above seeks a Guest Services Specialist to act as the first point of contact for individuals entering shelter programs. You will conduct intakes, orientations, and assist guests in navigating shelter services and housing options.

You will collaborate with Shelter Operations and Housing Navigation to maintain accurate HMIS records, support bed assignments, and ensure a dignified, compassionate guest experience while promoting housing stability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and orientation services for individuals entering shelter programs.
• Assist with diversion conversations and assess safe alternatives to shelter.
• Support shelter lottery operations and bed assignments with accurate records.
• Provide operational support to ensure a safe, organized shelter environment.
• Engage with community resources and partner agencies to connect guests to services.
