Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Shelter Supervisor to oversee shelter guests, complete essential paperwork, and support a safe and harmonious shelter environment. Duties include de-escalating conflicts, supervising common areas, and performing general office tasks.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year in a shelter setting, and a commitment to confidentiality and Safe from Harm guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year(s) working in a shelter environment.
• Must maintain confidentiality and comply with Safe from Harm guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to shelter guests and complete necessary paperwork.
• Attend to the immediate needs of the guests and encourage a safe shelter atmosphere.
• De-escalate conflicts and manage crises as necessary with strong verbal and written communication.
