Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a Shelter Operations staff member to support daily shelter services, conduct intakes, and enter data into HMIS. You will help meet basic participant needs and ensure a safe environment within the emergency shelter.

Candidates should be able to pass background checks, hold a valid driver’s license, and have a high school diploma or GED, with five years’ compassionate care experience seen as an asset.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college preferred.
• Pass pre-employment background check and annual motor vehicle check with valid license.
• Five years of compassionate care experience with vulnerable populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with intake processes and data entry into HMIS/SIMS.
• Oversee daily shelter operations and service delivery.
• Ensure safety and compliance with program guidelines and policies.
• Coordinate with case managers and staff for participant needs.
• Document participant information and progress in HMIS/SIMS.
