Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Client Ambassador for the Bell Shelter to ensure a safe, orderly environment for single adults experiencing homelessness. You will monitor the facility, explain rules, document incidents, answer calls, greet visitors, and assist with medication monitoring.

This on-site role requires strong customer service, good written communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with 1 year work experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within 14 days of start date.
• TB clearance prior to start date.
• Experience in mental health and/or addictions fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter facility, clients and guests to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
• Explain facility rules and maintain written incident records.
• Answer calls, greet visitors, and direct to appropriate staff.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain logs.
• Monitor client medication and conduct rounds during shifts.
• Observe activity via reception area monitors and report incidents as needed.
• Supervise client social activities and ensure confidentiality and ethics.
