Job summary

The Salvation Army Bell Shelter in Bell, CA seeks a Client Ambassador to monitor the shelter facility, and ensure a safe, orderly environment for single adults experiencing homelessness.

You will explain facility rules, maintain records, greet visitors, answer calls, and prepare incident reports, while supervising client activities and assisting with daily operations.

This on-site role requires a High School diploma and CPR/First Aid within 14 days, TB clearance, and the ability to work any shift.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate with 1 year work experience.
• If in recovery, sobriety minimum of two (2) years.
• Experience in mental health and/or addictions fields preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification a must by 14 days of start date.
• TB-cleared prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter facility, clients, and guests to provide a safe, orderly environment.
• Explain rules as necessary and maintain written incident reports.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including restrooms.
• Answer incoming phone calls and direct to appropriate staff.
• Greet visitors and direct them to the right person.
• Prepare written reports for all incidents using logs and incident report forms.
• Maintain a safe environment inside and outside the facility.
• Perform rounds, monitor client medication, and observe activity via video monitors.
• Supervise client social activities and perform duties in a courteous, professional manner.
