The Salvation Army Anaheim Center of Hope in Anaheim, CA is seeking an Ambassador for Shelter Services who will help transform residents' lives through trauma-informed care, maintain safety, assist with intake and front desk duties, and support light housekeeping.

This full-time position offers three shifts, weekend coverage, and opportunities to work with Case Managers to connect residents with services.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or GED with 1 year work.
Minimum 1 year sobriety and consistent participation in a Support Group.
Experience in or basic knowledge of mental health, homelessness and/or addictions fields preferred.
Criminal background checks are required.
MVR (motor vehicle record) check if necessary.
Basic literacy and computer skills.
CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained in one month of start date.

Responsibilities

This role supports residents with trauma-informed care and de-escalation strategies.
Assist in serving meals and refer residents to Case Managers as needed.
Patrol buildings and grounds hourly to ensure safety and report issues.
Perform light housekeeping and maintain cleanliness of rooms and facilities.
Front desk duties: monitor desk, answer shelter calls, and complete intake data in Salvation Army software.
