Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California in Bell Shelter is seeking a Lead Client Ambassador to support the daily coordination of Client Ambassadors and maintain a safe, welcoming environment. This lead role provides guidance, coordinates shift activities, and helps ensure safety, engagement, and compliance with shelter procedures across shifts and departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months of experience with individuals experiencing homelessness or vulnerable populations.
• CPR and First Aid certification required prior to employment.
• TB clearance required prior to hire and annually thereafter.
• If in recovery, must have 2 years of sobriety.
• Understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to Client Ambassadors during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate Client Ambassador activities and ensure required shift responsibilities are completed.
• Serve as a lead resource for Client Ambassadors regarding shelter procedures and daily operations.
• Assist with shift coverage and communication with managers.
• Identify operational concerns and escalate to the appropriate manager.
• Support consistent implementation of shelter policies and procedures.
• Assist with shift pass-downs and ensure information is communicated between shifts.
