Job summary

Shelter House, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Prevention Case Manager in Chantilly, VA. You will support survivors of domestic/sexual violence and work to prevent homelessness through client-centered case management and advocacy.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, safety planning, coordinating services, and assisting with court appearances, all while maintaining accurate records and reporting outcomes. Evening and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work/human services or commensurate experience.
• 1+ years of case management/direct services.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with local travel (10-15%).
• Ability to drive a minivan.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and develop individualized safety plans.
• Assess health, mental health, social needs, and employability.
• Administer flexible financial assistance.
• Provide mobile advocacy and community meetings.
• Assist clients with protective orders and court appearances.
• Coordinate services across multiple agencies.
• Maintain accurate client records and report data (VADATA, DV Database).
