Job summary

Shelter House seeks a Prevention Case Manager to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and trafficking facing homelessness risk. You will assess needs, connect clients to services, and advocate for comprehensive supports to improve safety and housing stability.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, safety planning, housing search assistance, and collaboration with landlords and community partners to deliver wrap-around services.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field, or commensurate experience.
• 1+ years of human services or direct services experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing priorities and exercise sound judgement.
• Ability to manage tasks amid interruptions and work hours outside standard times.
• Willingness to drive a minivan and valid driver’s license; local travel 10-15%.
• Foreign language fluency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth assessments of clients’ needs across health, housing history, life skills and finances to set housing goals.
• Provide flexible financial assistance to support safety and stability.
• Deliver mobile advocacy by meeting clients in community locations.
• Offer crisis intervention and safety planning; assist with protective orders and court visits.
