Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund is hiring a Residential Aide (Park Overlook) in Bronx, NY. The role provides direct support to shelter clients under the Shift Supervisor, ensuring safety and adherence to facility rules.

Responsibilities include intake processing, meal distribution, log maintenance, and coordination with maintenance and medical staff. Candidates should have a HS diploma, NYS security license, and shelter experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Two years’ experience in shelters or congregate residential services.
• Experience with families/homeless population preferred.
• Must pass a satisfactory background investigation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete new resident intake packets, exits logs, and daily occupancy forms.
• Use CARES system for intake check-in and discharge conditional intake.
• Review nightly attendance roster incident reports.
• Receive food deliveries and verify items with receipts.
• Distribute meals and dispose of expired items per guidelines.
• Monitor daily attendance roster during entry/exit.
• Assist with room transfers/swaps and provide client access to rooms.
• Maintain all logs and submit monthly to Director of Operations.
• Rotate shifts to meet program needs and support safety checks.
