Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund is seeking a Residential Aide for Park Overlook in the Bronx. The RA supports clients with daily care, enforces facility rules, and assists staff under the Shift Supervisor.

The role requires attention to safety, detailed record-keeping, and teamwork in a busy shelter environment. Responsibilities include intake processing, meal distribution, log maintenance, and coordination with DHS CARES.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years’ experience in single adult shelters or congregate residential services.
• Food Protection Certification and CPR/First Aid required.
• Experience with families/homeless population is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete new resident intake packets and logs.
• Utilize CARES for intake check-in and discharge conditional intake.
• Review nightly attendance rosters and incident reports.
• Distribute meals and handle food deliveries with receipts.
• Monitor attendance rosters and supervise room transfers.
• Maintain logs and ensure safety through periodic checks.
• Adhere to DHS guidelines and maintain a clean, organized space.
