Job summary

HELP USA INC in New York seeks a Residential Aide to help ensure client safety, facility security, and orderly operations during shifts. You will work directly with clients to ensure attendance at required meetings and collaborate with the Social Services Team to address issues and ensure continuity of care during a client’s stay.

You will conduct intake/orientation, patrols, manage possessions when clients are away, perform bed and meal counts, and use the DHS CARES system to track

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or equivalent experience and skills.
• FDNY F-02 Fireguard Certificate required (30-day to obtain).
• Experience in residential facilities is preferred.
• Experience with people experiencing homelessness or other disadvantaged individuals is preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Ability to provide night and weekend coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure client safety and security of the facility during shifts.
• Coordinate with Social Services to ensure client needs are addressed and communication is consistent.
• Conduct Intake/Orientation for new clients, explaining processes, rules, IDs, and bed assignment.
• Conduct and document patrols to ensure compliance with rules and safety.
• Manage inventory of clients' possessions when away for hospitalization or other reasons.
• Conduct bed and meal counts and assist House Managers with locker searches.
• Use DHS CARES system to track vacancies, check clients in/out, print rosters, and notify meetings.
• Escort clients to meetings and appointments when required.
• Document incidents and notable events during shifts.
