Job summary

TriMas Company LLC in El Cajon, CA is seeking a Sheet Metal Lead for the 2nd shift. This on-site, full-time position leads daily operations, coordinates tasks, and provides training to the team while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The Lead will oversee production, mentor staff, and collaborate with the Supervisor to optimize workflow, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. Occasional meetings may occur in the absence of the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must have proven leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong organizational, communication and mentoring abilities.
• Proficiency with relevant manufacturing software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and ensure adherence to standards.
• Allocate tasks based on skills and workload.
• Provide training, mentorship, and promote professional growth.
• Monitor performance and implement improvements for productivity and quality.
• Facilitate communication between team and Supervisor.
• Resolve conflicts to maintain a positive work environment.
• Prepare reports on performance and project progress.
• Support meetings when Supervisor is away.
• Maintain hands-on work at least 80% of the time.
