Job summary

DebtBlue, LLC is seeking a Settlement Processing Specialist for our in-office Richardson, TX team. You will audit negotiated settlements, lock completed audits, and coordinate with creditors to ensure accurate, timely processing per our quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year in a transactional or financial operations role, with experience handling time-sensitive payments and working with creditors or lenders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of experience in a transactional or financial operations role.
• Experience handling time-sensitive financial tasks such as processing payments, reviewing transactions, or managing account information.
• Familiarity working alongside creditors, lenders, financial institutions, or vendors.

Responsibilities

• Audit negotiated settlements for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company procedures.
• Lock new settlements once the required audit has been completed and the settlement meets processing requirements.
• Call creditors or third parties to process settlement payments when required.
• Process payoffs for active settlements when sufficient client funds are available or when a payoff is requested.
• Contact creditors or third parties to confirm payoff amounts and requirements before completing an active settlement payoff.
• Request proof of payment for active settlements when documentation is needed to confirm payment completion.
• Follow up with creditors or third parties as needed to obtain requested proof of payment.
• Manage multiple negotiations while consistently meeting performance and productivity goals.
