Job summary

TEKsystems in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a CMDB Product Owner to lead the ServiceNow CMDB and related capabilities in a large enterprise. You will own the CMDB roadmap, governance, backlog, data quality initiatives, and stakeholder alignment, working closely with engineering teams for implementation.

The role requires strong CMDB знowledge, ITIL background, and experience guiding governance, discovery, service mapping, and ITOM. This is a contract-to-hire onsite role in Cincinnati.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of product ownership experience, preferably in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience managing product backlogs and roadmaps with prioritization and stakeholder alignment.
• Enterprise CMDB or configuration management experience with CMDB concepts and practices.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow CMDB, its data model, capabilities, and role within ServiceNow.
• Hands‑on experience with data governance and data quality initiatives, including metrics.
• Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements with engineering teams.
• Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority and build consensus.
• Agile product ownership experience in Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong ITIL knowledge related to configuration management and ITSM.
• Experience with CMDB-related capabilities like discovery, service mapping, ITOM, and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the functional owner for the ServiceNow CMDB and related capabilities, ensuring the platform supports current and future business and technology needs.
• Define, maintain, and refine the CMDB roadmap and governance model.
• Own and manage the CMDB product backlog with prioritization in collaboration with stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure successful CMDB feature delivery and provide guidance.
• Lead CMDB governance, including standards, policies, and processes.
• Drive data governance and data quality initiatives, including health monitoring and remediation.
• Establish CI lifecycle management practices and ensure accurate CI data across lifecycles.
• Oversee CMDB integrations for consistency and governed data flows.
• Promote CSDM, service mapping, discovery, and ITOM to improve visibility and insights.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to align CMDB with service management and IT operations.
• Influence stakeholders to gain alignment on priorities and adoption of CMDB processes.
• Lead CMDB expansion initiatives to onboard new services, technologies, and domains.
• Develop documentation for CMDB processes, data models, governance, and standards.
• Promote adoption of CMDB capabilities through training and advocacy.
• Create reporting and metrics on CMDB health, data quality, usage, and value for leadership.
