Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a ServiceNow CMDB Product Owner to strengthen CMDB quality, adoption, and business value. You will connect business needs with ServiceNow capabilities, build relationships with technology stakeholders, and guide governance and data ownership practices.

This is an individual contributor leadership role reporting to the platform director, with no direct reports. You will influence teams without direct authority and partner with engineers to drive long-term CMDB direction.

Brooksource is seeking a ServiceNow CMDB Product Owner to help an enterprise organization strengthen the quality, adoption, and business value of its Configuration Management Database.

In this role, you will connect business needs with ServiceNow capabilities, build relationships with technology stakeholders, and help establish sustainable governance and data ownership practices. You will partner with internal engineers, the platform architect, and external consulting resources to guide improvements and take long-term ownership of CMDB operations and direction.

Responsibilities

• Help define and prioritize CMDB improvements based on business needs, data quality, and operational value.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and data owners across technology teams.
• Help establish governance practices, data stewardship responsibilities, and repeatable operational processes.
• Partner with engineers and the platform architect to translate business requirements into actionable platform improvements.
• Collaborate with consulting resources and help transition improvements into sustainable internal operations.
• Support adoption through training, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
• Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy, completeness, ownership, and usability.
• Assess opportunities involving Discovery, Service Mapping, Service Graph Connectors, and related ServiceNow capabilities.
• Help stakeholders understand how reliable CMDB information supports service delivery, automation, and decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Meaningful experience working on a ServiceNow platform team or delivering ServiceNow improvements.
• Experience with CMDB or closely related ServiceNow capabilities, such as IT Asset Management or Enterprise Architecture.
• Ability to translate business needs into technology requirements and explain the value of proposed improvements.
• Demonstrated success building relationships, resolving competing priorities, and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Technical understanding sufficient to evaluate recommendations and collaborate effectively with engineers and architects.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and ownership of work through completion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Discovery, Service Mapping, Service Graph Connectors, or CMDB data integrations.
• Experience establishing data governance, data certification, stewardship, or data-quality practices.
• Experience supporting adoption and organizational change.
• Familiarity with CSDM and enterprise configuration management practices.
• Experience collaborating with consulting partners and internal delivery teams.
• Five days onsite in Cincinnati with a business professional dress code.
• Contract-to-hire opportunity intended for long-term employment.
