Job summary

JobTailor in Tysons, VA is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Architect to lead design, development, and governance of enterprise workflows. You will translate business needs into scalable solutions and ensure alignment with architecture principles.

You will collaborate with PMs, SMEs, and senior stakeholders; drive SDLC, integration, and deployment across modules like Change, CMDB, Service Catalog, Knowledge. Security and data governance are essential.

Qualifications

US citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
Minimum five years total work experience.
Experience with APIs in ServiceNow to support Low-Code/No-Code development.
Experience with BPMN-based automation and related tools (Java, JavaScript, Salesforce, SQL).
Hands-on ServiceNow analysis, architecture, and development.
Proficient with ServiceNow components (CMDB, Change, Service Catalog, Incident, Knowledge, etc.).
Strong REST API design and API gateway configuration knowledge.

Responsibilities

Ensure designs align with ServiceNow architecture principles and are reusable and adaptive.
Act as the technical gateway from initial design to delivery cycles with PMs, BAs, architects and developers.
Deliver presentations to senior stakeholders on solutions and roadmaps.
Maximize platform capabilities to drive business outcomes.
Elicit requirements, design, develop, test, train, and support implementation.
Manage ServiceNow solution design, development, testing, and go-live support.
Translate business needs into sustainable ServiceNow implementations.
Define sustainment governance and processes for operational transition.
Provide data requirements guidance; refine data models with SMEs.
Guide requirement-to-design and migration steps; ensure SME alignment.
Collaborate with customer SMEs and leadership to meet system requirements.
Proficient with business rules, client scripts, UI policies/actions, script includes, flow designer, and notifications.
Foster a customer-focused environment; communicate effectively at all levels.
Eliminate obstacles and drive results impacting business performance; promote collaborative leadership.
Leverage knowledge of systems integration via web services and related tech.

Job description

Ensure all designs created by different teams aligns with the architecture principles of ServiceNow and should be reusable, reliable, and adaptive.
Act as the technical gateway between the initial designs agreed through to the delivery cycles with the project managers, business analysts, solution architects and developers.
Provide presentation to senior stakeholders on the solution approaches and roadmaps.
Ensure that the platform capabilities are efficiently and effectively utilized to drive expected business outcomes.
Requirements elicitation, design, development, testing, training, and implementation support.
Managing the ServiceNow solution design, development, testing, and go-live support.
Understanding the business context and how to translate business and functional requirements into a sustainable ServiceNow implementation.
Working with project resources to define sustainment governance and processes as part of operational transition.
Providing insight and expertise into the ServiceNow platform capabilities and roadmap.
Working with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify and refine data requirements.
Provide guidance to convert requirements into design and migration steps.
Working with customer SME’s and senior leadership to ensure systems requirements are met.
Proficient with business rules, client script, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, flow designer, notifications.
Fosters a customer-focused environment.

Requirements

Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoW Secret clearance is required for consideration.
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related discipline is required.
Five (5) years total work experience
Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs) in a ServiceNow platform in order to support Low-Code/No-Code Development.
Experience with API platform such as MuleSoft is a plus.
Experience developing application/process automation software based on BPMN models, experience using software tools such as Java, Javascript, Salesforce, etc. with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Experience as a Business Architect for development and implementation projects
Experience performing ServiceNow analysis, architecture, and application development or similar responsibility.
Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow components, such as Predictive Intelligence, Change Management, Service Catalog, Incident Management, Problem Management, Release Management, CMDB, CSM, Knowledge Management, Self‑Service Portal, etc.
Experience in performing and advising on change management.
Prior experience participating in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, coding, testing, and promotion into production.
Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML
Basic knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
Experience in agile and hybrid low‑code application development using JIRA for user story task management.
Good understanding of ServiceNow's architecture, data model, and core concepts.
Knowledge of RESTful API design principles and the ability to create and consume REST APIs in ServiceNow.
Knowledge of configuring ServiceNow to receive requests from the API Gateway, including the correct HTTP methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) and response handling.
Good understanding of ACLs for API security
