Palmer Trucks seeks a Service Writer for its Cincinnati service facility. You will greet customers, coordinate service requests, estimate repair costs, and manage repair orders using shop software. You will also support the service team with warranty documentation and vendor communications to ensure accurate, timely service.

The role requires strong communication, basic computer skills, and a customer-oriented approach to drive satisfaction and repeat business.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required and experience with repair order processing software.
• Varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, or extended hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receives inbound customer calls for service scheduling and requests.
• Greets and assists drivers at the location with their unit.
• Coordinates and tracks repair orders with Service Manager and Foremen for task assignment.
• Ensures customers receive timely service and resolves disputes and warranty issues with management.
• Maintains documentation for labor sales and warranty compliance.
• Keeps repair orders properly opened and closed in a timely manner.
• Stays informed of service bulletins, recalls, and warranty information.
• Advises customers on needed service work and potential additional labor or parts.
• Contacts vendors and OEMs for product information or authorizations.
• Obtains purchase orders from customers and sublet providers.
• Participates in ongoing training on technical and warranty issues.
• Assists in maintaining a clean shop and office area.
