Job summary

Custom Truck One Source is seeking a Service Writer located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. You will provide quality service to customers, prepare repair orders, coordinate scheduling with technicians, and process invoices and payments for service work.

Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential. The role emphasizes accuracy, professionalism, and excellent customer interaction, in a non-exempt, hourly capacity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Knowledge of equipment and heavy & light duty trucks is a plus.
• Previous experience in a similar role including custom service/support and/or administrative.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Extremely detail oriented and accurate.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, and adapt to changing work priorities.
• Self-sufficient and driven; able to meet deadlines and schedules.
• Proficient with common software (MS Office Suite, internet) to process orders; knowledge of inventory software (M3) to process repair orders.
• Must communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• People skills and client service orientation are essential.
• Ability to work with basic math concepts.

Responsibilities

• Identifies problems by listening to customer symptoms and clarifying descriptions.
• Verifies warranty and service coverage; explains provisions.
• Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculates customer payment.
• Contacts fleet management for authorization to start work or estimates.
• Prepares repair orders with symptoms, problems, causes, repairs and approvals.
• Assists with scheduling work and issuing work to Service Technicians.
• Maintains customer rapport; explains estimates and secures approvals; provides contact details.
• Updates knowledge by reading manufacturers' materials.
