Job summary

Custom Truck One Source in Wilkes-Barre, PA is seeking a Service Writer/Administrator to provide quality service to customers in a fast-paced environment. You will identify problems from customer descriptions, prepare repair orders, verify warranty coverage, and communicate estimates and timelines to customers.

The role also involves coordinating with parts and service teams, scheduling work, processing invoices, and maintaining a safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Knowledge of equipment and heavy & light duty trucks is a plus.
• Previous experience in a similar role, including custom service/support and/or administrative.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Extremely detail oriented and accurate.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, and adapt to changing work priorities.
• Must be self-sufficient and driven, meeting deadlines and schedules.
• General aptitude in using MS Office Suite, internet, etc. for processing orders.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Identifies problems by listening to customer descriptions of symptoms and clarifying details.
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers and explaining provisions.
• Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor and calculating customer payments.
• Contacts fleet management for authorization to start work or estimates before repairs.
• Prepares repair orders describing symptoms, problems, and repairs; obtains signatures; enters RO into service database.
