Job summary

SciensBuilding Solutions is seeking a Service Manager to drive customer satisfaction and lead a service team alongside a back-office crew. This role requires ownership of a Division’s service management within a growing national organization and demands effective coordination with sales and installation teams.

Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years in a service operations manager role in fire detection, protection, or security, strong leadership, and proficiency with NFPA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years in a service operations manager role in fire detection, protection, or security environments.
  • Ability to communicate with leadership, regional staff, customers and vendors.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm, clean agent/special hazard fire suppression, or security systems.
  • Understanding of P&L and financial drivers.
  • Able to attract, develop and retain a team.
  • Technical understanding of product lines to support management decisions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background/drug screening.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with NFPA codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • NICET Level II preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the service department of assigned Division.
  • Supervise, train, and develop branch associates including technicians, service coordinators, billing coordinators, and dispatchers.
  • Schedule, execute, bill, and complete service, warranty, and emergency jobs.
  • Execute service inspections on time and resolve deficiencies.
  • Develop a budget and meet revenue and gross margin targets.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to meet goals.
  • Deliver projects within budgeted cost.
  • Perform monthly financial performance analysis and report to management.
  • Manage assets such as inventory and service vehicles.
  • Build a high-performance culture with annual reviews and development initiatives.
  • Plan manpower and allocation and support sales/install teams for growth.
  • Control and calibrate inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.
  • Ensure safety culture and compliance with safety initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)


  • Manage the service department of assigned Division.

  • Supervise, train, and develop all branch associates, including technicians, service coordinators, billing coordinators, and dispatchers.

  • Responsible for the scheduling, execution, billing and completion of service,warranty,and emergency jobs.

  • Responsible for executing service inspections on time and resolution of system deficiencies.

  • Responsible fordeveloping a budget andmeeting revenue and gross margin targets.

  • Communicate with customers, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to execute plans, programs, and processes designed to meet or exceed goals and maximize market potential.

  • Responsible for delivering projects within the original budgeted cost.

  • Responsible for executing monthly financial performance analysis. Reports the information in an effective manner to management and takes corrective action as needed.

  • Responsible for efficient asset management,such as inventory and company service vehicles.

  • Responsible for building a high-performance culture to include annual performance reviews and development initiatives.

  • Responsible for manpower planning and allocation.

  • Responsible in part for customer satisfaction and cash collections.

  • Works closely with the sales and installation teams to support the growth and profitability of the Division.

  • Responsible for control and calibration of inspection, measuring, and testingequipment.

  • Responsible to ensure all employees embrace our safety culture and comply with all safety initiatives.


WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU


  • Two to five years ofexperience in a service operations manager role within the fire detection, fire protection, or security environment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate to a diverse group of individuals,including company leadership, regional staff, customers, and vendors.

  • Strong, positive team builder with leadership ability.

  • Knowledge of current fire alarm, clean agent/special hazard fire suppression, or security systems.

  • Strong understanding of Profit and Loss statements and key financial drivers.

  • Ability to attract, develop, grow, and retain a team.

  • Ability to understand the technical aspects of the product lines and applications as necessary to make informed management decisions.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

  • Able to work independently.

  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.

  • Proficient in NFPA codes and standards.

  • Strongcomputer skills;proficient at Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

  • NICET Level II preferred.

COMPENSATION

$155K - $165K, depending on experience
