Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Service Manager who is a positive change agent and can drive high customer satisfaction, while leading a service team along with a back‑office team to support a business that is experiencing exciting growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage the service department of the assigned Division.
- Supervise, train, and develop all branch associates, including technicians, service coordinators, billing coordinators, and dispatchers.
- Schedule, execute, bill, and complete service, warranty, and emergency jobs.
- Execute service inspections on time and resolve system deficiencies.
- Develop a budget and meet revenue and gross‑margin targets.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to execute plans, programs, and processes designed to meet or exceed goals and maximize market potential.
- Deliver projects within the original budgeted cost.
- Execute monthly financial performance analysis.
- Report information effectively to management and take corrective action as needed.
- Manage efficient asset management, including inventory and company service vehicles.
- Build a high‑performance culture with annual performance reviews and development initiatives.
- Plan and allocate manpower.
- Support customer satisfaction and cash collections.
- Work closely with sales and installation teams to support Division growth and profitability.
- Control and calibrate inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.
- Ensure all employees embrace the safety culture and comply with safety initiatives.
What We Like About You
- Two to five years of experience in a service operations manager role within the fire detection, fire protection, or security environment.
- Effective communication with a diverse group, including company leadership, regional staff, customers, and vendors.
- Strong, positive team builder with leadership ability.
- Knowledge of current fire alarm, clean‑agent/special hazard fire suppression, or security systems.
- Strong understanding of profit‑and‑loss statements and key financial drivers.
- Ability to attract, develop, grow, and retain a team.
- Ability to understand technical aspects of product lines and applications to make informed decisions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass background check and drug screening.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational, decision‑making, and communication skills.
- Proficient in NFPA codes and standards.
- Strong computer skills; proficient at Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- NICET Level II preferred.
