Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking a Service Manager to lead our shop operations, ensuring efficient servicing of customer equipment and directing shop personnel. The role emphasizes supervision, scheduling, training, and adherence to DOT/OSHA guidelines.

You will coordinate with vendors, manage workloads, and support sales expansion while maintaining a safe, productive work environment. A strong background in diesel maintenance and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on medium and heavy duty diesel truck mechanic experience.
• 5+ years supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of computer diagnostics and shop parts/maintenance software.
• High school diploma or higher; CDL license preferred.
• Brake and DOT certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise activities of all assigned personnel.
• Hire, train and evaluate personnel.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors.
• Follow up on additional work needed on units leaving the shop for outside repairs.
• Comply with Company, DOT and OSHA guidelines.
• Plan and prepare work schedules and assign associates to duties.
• Provide training to new and existing employees on company policies and safety.
• Perform duties of each position if necessary and other tasks as directed by Area Manager.
• Maintain safe, clean and orderly work environment.
• Work extended hours when required.
• Assist in increasing sales, expanding markets and promoting business.
