Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking a Service Manager to lead our shop operations, overseeing all personnel and ensuring timely service/maintenance of customer equipment. You will hire, train, and evaluate staff, coordinate with vendors, and manage outside repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on medium and heavy duty diesel truck mechanic and supervisory experience.
• Flexible with shifts, strong customer focus, meet scheduled deadlines.
• Working knowledge of computer diagnostics and shop parts/maintenance software.
• Mechanical skills required; able to lead a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise activities of all assigned personnel.
• Provide appropriate supervision to employees and ensure duties are performed on time.
• Hire, train and evaluate personnel; establish good vendor relationships.
• Oversee repairs and coordinate outside repairs as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and adherence to guidelines.
• Assist with on-call service calls 24/7 and extend hours as required.
