Job summary

Salem Leasing in Bluffton, SC seeks a Service Manager to lead shop operations, supervise diesel technicians, schedule work, and coordinate with vendors. You will hire, train and evaluate staff, ensure safety and DOT/OSHA compliance, and push for timely completion of repairs while expanding service capabilities.

You must have at least 5 years as a diesel mechanic with supervisory experience, strong diagnostic skills, and solid communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on diesel mechanic experience with supervisory duties.
• Flexible shifts with a strong customer focus and ability to meet deadlines.
• Working knowledge of computer diagnostics and shop parts/maintenance software.
• High school diploma or higher; CDL license preferred; brake and DOT certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and supervise activities of all assigned personnel.
• Provide appropriate supervision to employees and ensure duties are performed in a timely manner.
• Hire, train and evaluate personnel.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors.
• Follow up on additional work needed on any unit that leaves the shop for outside repairs.
• Comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA guidelines.
• Plan and prepare work schedules and assign associates to specific duties.
• Provide training to new and existing employees on expectations and policies.
• Perform duties of each position when necessary and assist the Area Manager as directed.
