Job summary

Basney BMW Mazda in South Bend, IN is seeking a Service Lane Assistant for a full-time hourly position in the auto service department. You will greet customers, assist with service check-ins, and help with loaner vehicles while supporting advisors and technicians.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, a clean driving record, and strong communication and organizational skills. Weekend availability may be required as part of a full-time schedule.

Job description

The Service Lane Assistant at Basney BMW Mazda is responsible for providing excellent customer service and support for the service department. This individual will work closely with customers and service advisors to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience. This is a full-time hourly position in the auto industry located in South Bend, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assist them with checking in for their service appointments
• Pick up and deliver customer vehicles and or customers
• Maintain a clean and organized service lane area
• Break down cardboard boxes and dispose as needed
• Organize and clean tools as needed
• Assist with checking in and out loaner vehicles
• Communicate updates and information to customers regarding their vehicle status
• Provide support to service advisors and technicians as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Clean Driving record and ability to drive customer and company vehicles
• Must be excellent at parking / maneuvering vehicles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous customer service experience, preferably in the automotive industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of automotive terminology and procedures is a plus
• Must be able to work full-time hours and occasional weekends as needed
