Job summary

Basney BMW Mazda in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking a Service Lane Assistant to provide excellent customer service and support for the service department. This full-time hourly role works closely with customers and service advisors to ensure a smooth service experience.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, handling check-ins, delivering vehicles, keeping the lane tidy, and assisting with loaner vehicles, while maintaining clear communication about vehicle status.

Qualifications

Job description

The Service Lane Assistant at Basney BMW Mazda is responsible for providing excellent customer service and support for the service department. This individual will work closely with customers and service advisors to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience. This is a full-time hourly position in the auto industry located in South Bend, Indiana.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assist them with checking in for their service appointments
• Pick up and deliver customer vehicles and or customers
• Maintain a clean and organized service lane area
• Break down cardboard boxes and dispose as needed
• Organize and clean tools as needed
• Assist with checking in and out loaner vehicles
• Communicate updates and information to customers regarding their vehicle status
• Provide support to service advisors and technicians as needed
• Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

• Clean Driving record and ability to drive customer and company vehicles
• Must be excellent at parking / maneuvering vehicles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous customer service experience, preferably in the automotive industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of automotive terminology and procedures is a plus
• Must be able to work full-time hours and occasional weekends as needed
