Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an entry-level administrative / customer service professional in Texas to support daily service center operations. You will handle clerical tasks, document processing, and customer communications to determine pickup/delivery needs and provide rate quotes.

The role involves data entry for shipments, generating freight bills, coordinating with drivers and sales, and ensuring compliance with policies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years general office experience preferred.
• One year customer service experience preferred.
• Previous transportation experience preferred.
• Strong phone and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand FedEx service products to assist customers.
• Typing/data entry skills; Ten-key skills preferred.
• PC experience and ability to learn required systems.
• Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete training.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative/clerical tasks including filing, copying, data entry and answering phones.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with pickup/delivery needs, quotes and issue resolution.
• Enter shipment data, status updates, and generate/correct freight bills.
• Coordinate freight pick-up and assist customers via phone, email or fax.
• Make freight delivery appointments and coordinate with drivers.
• Review drivers' Hours-of-Service logs and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate with sales/operations to meet customer needs.
• Reconcile cash and checks; prepare deposits and COD remittance as needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
