Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. is seeking a Service Center Manager to lead daily operations, drive performance, and manage drivers, dock staff, and sales teams. You will ensure top-level safety and DOT/OSHA/EPA/ICC compliance while steering budgets and customer relationships.

You will analyze metrics, execute growth plans, oversee facility maintenance, freight claims, and special projects, and lead a high-performing team with a focus on continuous improvement and market expansion.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the LTL/transportation industry.
• Experience managing drivers, dock workers, and sales teams.
• Proven ability to develop and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and keep the Service Center running at peak performance.
• Analyze performance metrics to spot opportunities and solve challenges.
• Build relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Review revenue trends and identify growth opportunities.
• Partner on sales strategies and help expand your territory.
• Stay ahead of competitor activity and industry trends.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing team.
• Create and execute sales and marketing action plans.
• Handle safety, compliance, and regulatory standards (DOT, OSHA, EPA, ICC).
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee freight claims and facility maintenance.
• Lead team meetings and drive continuous improvement.
