Dayton Freight Lines in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Service Center Manager to lead day-to-day operations, drive service excellence, and optimize performance at a busy service center. You will manage drivers and dock staff, coordinate sales activities, and ensure safety compliance and budget adherence.

The role emphasizes people leadership, customer communication, and continuous improvement to protect daylight operations and customer satisfaction within a growing network.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the LTL/Transportation Industry is required.
• Experience in managing drivers and dock workers is preferred.
• Experience in managing a sales staff.
• Track record of developing and following a budget.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and measures Service Center performance to identify opportunities or problem areas and develop solutions.
• Maintains excellent communication with external and internal customers.
• Analyzes revenue statistics.
• Identifies sales opportunities and develops customer solutions.
• Keeps informed of competitor developments.
• Recruits, qualifies, interviews, hires, trains and develops Service Center personnel.
• Develops sales/marketing action plans to maximize territory revenue.
• Investigates, reports and initiates corrective actions for accidents and employee discrepancies.
• Ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Evaluates all freight claims.
• Maintains Service Center premises.
• Facilitates informational meetings with Service Center team members.
