Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines in Minnesota is seeking a Service Center Manager to oversee organization, staffing and safety for a busy facility in Roseville. You will drive performance, manage budgets and lead a team of drivers, dock workers and sales staff to deliver reliable, cost-efficient service.

This role emphasizes servant leadership, strong communication and operational excellence, with a focus on safety compliance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement across all service center

Qualifications

• Experience in the LTL/ transportation industry.
• Experience managing drivers and dock workers.
• Experience managing a sales staff.
• Experience developing and following a budget.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and measures service center performance to identify opportunities or problems and develop solutions.
• Maintains excellent communication with external and internal customers.
• Analyzes revenue statistics.
• Identifies sales opportunities and develops customer solutions.
• Keeps fully informed of competitor developments.
• Recruits, qualifies, interviews, hires, trains and develops service center personnel.
• Develops sales/marketing action plans to maximize territory revenue.
• Investigates, reports and initiates corrective actions for accidents and employee discrepancies.
• Understands and complies with Dayton Freight’s safety practices including DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules.
• Evaluates all freight claims.
• Ensures that service center premises are protected and maintained.
• Facilitates informational meetings with service center team members.
• Effectively handles special assignments as directed.

• Inspects and measures Service Center performance to identify opportunities or problem areas and develop solutions
