Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assist seating as needed.
• Present menu, answer questions, and suggest items including wines.
• Memorize menu selections and daily specials; know basic ingredients.
• Take orders and relay to kitchen and service bar via POS.
• Handle payments and process checkouts with accuracy.
• Prepare beverages, desserts, and clear and reset tables.
• Maintain cash handling procedures and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Follow health, safety regulations and company policies.

Description

We are looking for an ambitious and fun individual to join our hard working food and beverage team at the Le Meridien | Sheraton Charlotte Hotel. Our goal is to enhance the customer experience by having an enthusiastic staff to ensure event guests are well taken care of!

Schedule: Primarily PM shifts and weekends. Schedule may vary based on business needs and volume.

Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner and assist host or hostess in seating guests as needed.

• Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food, service, appropriate wines, and food preparation.
• Memorize menu selections and wines including being familiar with daily specials and basic ingredients.
• Use proper verbiage and etiquette including serving ladies first
• Write order on check or memorize order.
• Relay order to kitchen and service bar utilizing point of sale system
• Observe guests to fulfill any additional request and to perceive when meal has been completed for guest checkout.
• Total bill and accept payment or refer guest to cashier.
• Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, and brew coffee.
• Clear and reset counters or table at conclusion of each course.
• Assist in cleaning and wiping down of service areas and prep areas
• Maintain and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Maintain safe serve regulations when serving alcoholic beverages
• Handle reasonable guests complaints/requests and inform others when required
• Comply with health and safety regulation and act in line with company policies and licensing laws
