Job summary

BFS FOODS INC is seeking a friendly server to greet guests, take orders, and deliver food with a smile. You will upsell daily features, handle POS transactions, and keep tables and dining areas clean. You must maintain safety and cash accuracy while providing excellent customer service.

The role supports both part-time and full-time schedules with opportunities for advancement in a fast-paced restaurant setting in Maryland.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Able to greet customers and take orders accurately.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Good communication and friendly attitude expected.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time in clean uniform with a positive attitude.
• Greet customers with a smile and verbal greeting.
• Review menu, upsell items, and take orders at the table.
• Ring in orders, deliver food promptly, and handle payments.
• Manage tickets, credit cards, and close out at shift end.

Remember a smile is part of the uniform+ Greet all customers with a smile and a verbal greeting+ Review menu with customers when needed, suggestively sell products and take order from each customer at the table.+ Correctly ring in orders and deliver food in a timely manner to the customer when food is cooked.+ Handle money from customers; ring up tickets using the POS system and make proper change.+ Account for all tickets, credit card receipts, and make sure that all tickets have been rung up and closed before shift is over.+ Complete the position checklist while stocking and preparing the unit for the next shift+ Using all tools provided by the manager, keep the store clean at all times, including but not limited to: bussing tables, sweeping and mopping floors.+ Bring all items of concern to the attention of the manager immediately, especially safety concerns and customer service complaints.+ Know the menu, the daily features when applicable, which beverages, and add-ons and desserts to suggestively sell+ Practice all rules for safety, food handling, cash security and all other restaurant policies.+ Perform all prepping and cleaning duties as detailed or assigned by supervisor.+ Make a difference in food cost by controlling waste and portion control.+ Perform all duties with a sense of urgencyPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:+ 16+ years old+ Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off of the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant+ Transports plates, glasses and baskets to and from dining room, service bar, and the kitchen about 30 times per shift+ Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.+ Mobility required during the entire shiftPerform such similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required or assigned.
