Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the dining area: set up section, linen, silverware, and glassware.
• Greet guests warmly and provide menu descriptions and recommendations.
• Explain how menu items are prepared and discuss ingredients.
• Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the system for kitchen and bar.
• Check IDs to ensure guests meet legal drinking age.
• Serve food and beverages and perform any required table-side prep.
• Describe and suggest wines, present them with proper glassware, and pour wine.
• Check guests’ satisfaction and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Clear dishes and reset tables for the next guests.
• Prepare and present guest checks; handle special requests (e.g., split checks).

Job description

Assist in preparing the restaurant for dining service by setting up section, including preparing items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.

Greet all guests in a warm, personal, friendly manner.

Review menus with guests and answer any questions about menu items, offering descriptions and making recommendations.

Inform guests of any daily specials including pricing, if not listed on themenu.

Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.

Take guests' food and beverage orders and enter orders into computer for transmittal to kitchen staff.

Check guests' identification to ensure they meetminimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol.

Serve food and beverages to guests, taking extra care to perform any additional table-side preparation or service as required for items served.

Describe and recommend wines to guests; bring selection to the table with appropriate glasses and pour the wine for theguests.

Check with the guests to ensure that they areenjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.

Remove dishes and glasses from tables, and takethem to the kitchen for cleaning.

Prepare the table for the next guest.

Prepare certain hot and cold non-alcoholicbeverages for guests.

Prepare and present guests' checks, ensuring anyspecial requests are followed (such as split checks), and collect corresponding payments.

Assist the entire service team throughout themeal period to ensure all guest's expectations are exceeded.

Stock service areas with supplies such ascoffee, iced tea, tableware, share plates, silverware, and linens.

Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance.
