Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is hiring a Pharmacy Technician I for our Outpatient Pharmacy. This role supports dispensing under supervision and contributes to patient care in a busy community setting.

The position requires a Virginia Pharmacy Tech License and CPhT certification, with at least 1 year of experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Shifts include 8:15am-5:15pm or 10:45am-7:15pm, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician I for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Princess Anne in Virginia Beach

Status:

Part time (24 hours per week) Mon-Fri- 3 days a week

Shift/Hours:

8:15am-5:15pm or 10:45am-7:15pm

The Pharmacy Technician I performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Participates in the training of new employees
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice.

Education

• Experience in a high-pace/high-volume store with data entry and handling insurance adjudications (Preferred)
• Familiar with managing inventory, cycle counts, and a good knowledge of handling the pharmacy queues to prioritize workflow (Preferred)
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

Experience

• 1 years of Pharmacy Technician experience (Required)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
