Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Specialty Case Management Pharmacy. This full-time role (40 hrs/wk) offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and a first-shift schedule with days rotating 8:00 am–6:00 pm variants; occasional Saturdays may apply.

• Pharmacy technician license required in the state of practice.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required.
• CPhT license or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician scope as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information (Epic).
• Maintains quality assurance per departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment and supports continuous patient care.

Shift: Rotating Days shift

Hours: 8am-4:30pm / 8:30am-5pm / 9:30am-6pm

Occasional Saturdays

The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
