Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician at our Proprium Specialty Pharmacy in Chesapeake, VA. This full-time position supports care delivery and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

The role requires a pharmacy technician license in the state of practice, Virginia license preferred (CPhT). Base pay ranges from $23.50 to $36.36 per hour with potential extra compensation; includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Pharmacy technician license (state of practice) required.
• CPhT license (NHA/PTCB) preferred.
• 1 year pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Occasional Saturdays
