Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, seeks a full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing and patient care under pharmacist supervision.

Rotating 8-hour shifts from 6am to 11pm with occasional overnight coverage and every-other-weekend scheduling. Requires VA tech license; CPhT preferred. Base pay range shown and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required.
• CPhT License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance per department and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
