Job summary

Pie Insurance is seeking a Senior Underwriter to lead by example, ensure high-quality underwriting, and support cross-functional teams with expert guidance. The role requires deep knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing, risk assessment, and strong collaboration across departments.

The Senior Underwriter will mentor staff, drive improvements, and help advance specialty programs while supporting leadership on key initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of property and casualty commercial underwriting experience preferred.
• Advanced underwriting knowledge, pricing, risk selection, and agency relations.
• Ability to manage partner relationships and travel as needed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily underwriting output to meet/exceed goals and ensure quality.
• Provide support and knowledge to other departments and teams.
• Coach, mentor, and train underwriters; lead onboarding programs.
• Represent underwriting in interdepartmental initiatives and projects.
• Own and manage projects with timelines and resource planning.
• Act as the point of contact for new tools and processes in underwriting.
