Job summary

Pie Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster for California workers’ compensation to independently manage end-to-end claims from setup to closure. The role focuses on high-dollar, high-exposure cases, timely investigations, and accurate reserving within regulatory guidelines.

You will collaborate with internal/external partners, ensure compliant operations, and strive for best-in-class customer experiences, while mentoring junior adjusters and maintaining strong licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years workers’ compensation claim adjusting experience.
• California WC claims experience required.
• Active licensing in applicable states is required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently handle all aspects of the workers’ compensation claims from setup to closure.
• Evaluate and handle high dollar, high exposure, complex claims.
• Conduct timely 3-point contact investigation; update as facts evolve.
• Set and adjust reserves within authority limits aligned with case facts.
• Present claims to senior management and stakeholders.
• Timely administration of statutory medical and indemnity benefits.
• Comply with statutory guidelines and regulations.
• Mitigate exposure and negotiate favorable settlements.
• Act as a liaison for partner agents and customers on claim guidance.
