Job summary

The City of Mesa is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Representative to manage workers’ compensation claims under state statutes and the City’s self-insured program. The role includes adjudicating claims, determining compensability, approving medical treatment, and handling related litigation.

This position also involves calculating indemnities (TTD/TPD and PTD/PPD), reporting expenditures, and coordinating with rehabilitation teams.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of workers’ compensation claims processing/adjudication experience.
• Experience with Arizona Workers’ Compensation statutes and related state/federal regulations.
• Combine training, education and experience toward an associate degree requirement.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate workers’ compensation claims, determine compensability and authorize or deny medical treatment.
• Handle litigation and file notices with the Industrial Commission of Arizona (ICA).
• Calculate indemnities such as TTD/TPD and permanent awards; approve medical bills for payment.
