Job summary

City of Compton under general supervision examines and adjusts Workers' Compensation claims, monitors expenditures, and communicates with physicians, supervisors, employees and attorneys regarding illness or injury related to employment. The role supports the Risk Manager and/or Workers' Compensation Claims Administrator.

It requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, and two years’ experience adjusting workers’ compensation claims with a public agency or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required

Responsibilities

• Reviews, examines and adjusts Workers' Compensation claims.
• Receives and records all claims and determines compensability.
• Authorizes medical treatment under California Labor Code.
• Computes and authorizes payments including medical bills and disability payments.
• Advises employees and dependents of entitlement to benefits under state law and City policies.
• Maintains records and ensures confidentiality.
