Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required.
• Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school required.
• Minimum 7-10 years of workers’ compensation litigation experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of California required.

Responsibilities

• Provides litigation services and is responsible for all aspects of assigned Workers’ Compensation matters.
• Manages the entire legal process, from investigation and discovery through trial prep and court proceedings; negotiates settlements as required.
• Litigates workers’ compensation cases in California before all state and federal courts, administrative boards, and other court proceedings.
• Represents ICW Group and insureds before administrative boards, state and federal courts, Court of Appeal, and California Supreme Court.
• Analyzes complex legal issues and develops defense strategies for ICW Group.
• Delivers timely communications and strategic legal advice to clients and claims personnel.
• Directs paralegals and support staff in handling cases and ensures timely filing of pleadings and motions.
• Builds and fosters internal and external client relationships with a customer-centric focus.
