Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance, in a Northeast hybrid setting, seeks a Technical Claims Specialist for Workers' Compensation to investigate, evaluate, and disposition complex high-exposure claims. You will apply established medical management strategies and monitor data for trends and reserve planning.

Role supports remote work for focused tasks with onsite collaboration where needed. Candidates reside in CT or nearby states; CT residents may work onsite up to two days monthly as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience is required.
• 3-5 years of related claims experience.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Investigates claims to determine coverage and eligibility.
• Resolves claims within authority and advises on value and strategy.
• Participates in pricing, reserving and strategy discussions.
• Works with defense counsel on litigated files per protocols.
• Identifies suspicious claims and potential adverse developments.
• Assesses third party subrogation, SIF and MSA exposures.
• Establishes and maintains accurate reserves on files.
• Provides reserve recommendations when over authority.
• Prepares for and attends mediations or settlements when needed.
• Understands new exposures and coverages for claims handling.
• Coordinates training for less experienced staff.
