Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance seeks a Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist in the West Region to review, analyze, and process moderately complex to complex claims within authority limits. You will determine liability, evaluate losses, negotiate settlements, and support the claims team.

Requirements include at least 2 years of WC claims handling, a BS/BA degree or equivalent, and licenses. Onsite work is required with potential remote options depending on policy and location.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Workers' Compensation claims handling, including lost time and litigated claims.
• Direct claims handling experience from investigation through resolution is required.
• BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience; licenses required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct investigations to analyze coverage, determine liability and damages.
• Engage independent adjusters, cause/origin experts and IMEs as needed.
• Refer to subrogation group or Special Investigations Unit as appropriate.
• Assess policy coverage and establish reserves, adjusting as necessary.
• Negotiate settlements within assigned authority limits.
• Coordinate litigation activities and attend trials as a company representative.
• Act as senior technical resource on the team and mentor others.
• Participate in Quality Review and related processes.
• Assist in Suit Committees, Roundtables, Arbitrations and field investigations.
