Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist for the West Region. The role handles moderately complex to complex claims, reviewing liability, compensability, losses, and settlements within authority limits.

Onsite presence is required twice a month, with potential for limited remote options depending on location. The position requires 3–5 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent training), and licensure.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and negotiate with customers and conduct investigations.
• Leadership ability and strong time management to delegate work and organize resources.
• Advanced knowledge of claims handling practices, liability and coverage learned through bachelor’s degree plus 3–5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts investigations of claims to analyze coverage and determine liability and damages.
• Engages independent adjusters, experts, and inspectors as needed.
• Assesses policy coverage and reserves, negotiates settlements within authority.
• Coordinates litigation activities and attends trials as needed.
• Mentors team members and participates in Quality Review processes.
