Henry Ford Health is seeking an IT Wireless Engineer to implement and support the company-wide WiFi infrastructure, focusing on day-to-day operations, monitoring, and cross-unit collaboration. The role involves coordinating projects to enhance wireless operations across multiple locations and ensuring secure, scalable wireless solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years in IT with 5+ years supporting enterprise WAN, CWNA/CWAP, and strong knowledge of routing, QoS, and wireless security.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of IT experience.
• 5+ years supporting multi-location enterprise WAN.
• Training on wireless a/b/g/n/ac tech, RF, and wireless security.
• Training on desktop OS, inter-networking, VOIP, VoWLAN, QoS, SNMP, and SMARTS; routing knowledge.
• Training on wireless survey tools.
• Professional Wireless Industry Associations/Affiliations.
• Strong background in wired network infrastructure (routers, switches, Layer 1).
• Training or knowledge of privacy laws (HIPAA/HITECH).
• Ability to design wireless solutions and provide direct technical support.
• Experience with wireless design, planning, and implementation.
• Understanding inter-networking routing protocols and integration with wireless.
• Experience with wireless encryption methods, RFID and wireless voice solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering implementation and support for company-wide WiFi infrastructure and related components.
• Collaborate with other units on joint projects and coordinate initiatives to evolve Wireless operations.
• Manage projects involving new features or modifications to existing infrastructure.
• Communicate effectively with Management and operate under minimal supervision.
